Feeding Our Future
Every day across Northeast Louisiana, thousands of children, seniors, veterans, and families face the uncertainty of not knowing where their next meal will come from. While the need continues to grow, so does our commitment to ensuring that no one in our community faces hunger alone.
The Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana is taking a transformational step to meet the growing need across our region through the creation of a new distribution center and campus in West Monroe. Made possible through the $14 million Feeding Our Future Capital Campaign, this transformative project will expand our capacity to provide nutritious food, strengthen disaster response, engage more volunteers, and meet the growing need across Northeast Louisiana.
When you support Feeding Our Future, you’re doing more than helping build a facility. You’re helping ensure that children, seniors, and families facing hunger have reliable access to food, hope, and dignity for years to come.
Now is the perfect time to make an impact. Thanks to a generous gift from Evelyn and Jeff Johnson, gifts to the Feeding Our Future Capital Campaign are being matched, up to $500,000!
Greater Impact
More Food. More Families Served. Greater Impact.
The Feeding Our Future campaign is about more than expanding a facility. It’s about expanding our ability to serve our neighbors.
Our new campus will provide the capacity to increase food distribution from 8.4 million pounds to 15 million pounds annually, helping us reach more children, seniors, veterans, and families across Northeast Louisiana.
Most importantly, this investment means more nutritious food on the tables of families facing hunger, greater support during times of crisis, and a stronger, healthier community for generations to come.
Together, we can create a future where more families have food on the table, more children have the nourishment they need to succeed, and fewer of our neighbors face hunger.
Expanding Our Reach
Building Capacity to Meet the Growing Need
To meet the growing need across Northeast Louisiana, the Food Bank is creating the space and infrastructure needed to serve more people, distribute more food, and respond more effectively when our community needs us most.
This transformational project will provide:
- Nearly double the space, growing from 45,000 square feet to 79,000 square feet
- A 256% increase in refrigeration capacity, allowing us to distribute more fresh and nutritious foods
- Expansion from one to six truck docks, improving efficiency and increasing food distribution capacity
- The ability to nearly double volunteer engagement, from 6,200 to 12,000 volunteer hours annually
- Enhanced disaster response and emergency preparedness capabilities to better serve communities during times of crisis
Every square foot of this expansion translates into greater capacity, greater efficiency, and greater impact, helping ensure that more children, families, and seniors across Northeast Louisiana have access to the food they need to thrive.
