According to Feeding America’s Map the Meal Gap 2022 Study, over 57,800 people in our community struggle with food insecurity, and of that, over 22,300 are children. Many of our neighbors are faced with difficult decisions on whether to pay bills or buy groceries. That is why Walmart and Sam’s Club are supporting the Feeding America® nationwide network of food banks, including the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana through the Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign. Now in its 10th year, the campaign has been a way for Walmart and Sam’s Club to partner with suppliers, customers, and members to help provide food to people in need. The Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign will run in-store and online from April 10 – May 8, 2023. There are three easy ways for customers and members to participate:

• Donate at check-out in stores and clubs.
• Round-up checkout on Walmart.com and the Walmart app.
• Buy participating products from suppliers: one item purchased in-store or online at Walmart equals one meal* secured on behalf of a local Feeding America food bank: 1 item = 1 meal. One item purchased from in-club or online at Sam’s Club equals five meals secured on behalf of a local Feeding America food bank: 1 item = 5 meals.
