The Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana is proud to partner with over 50 nonprofit agencies dedicated to providing food and nutrition assistance in their local communities. We also operate several direct distribution programs for children, families and seniors.
Every year in the United States, 119 billion pounds of food is wasted. Food waste happens at all stages from growing to retail to our homes. Through innovative programs like our Grocery Rescue, we partner with growers, manufacturers and retailers to rescue good, safe, excess food that would otherwise go to waste, and share it with food-insecure families.
The Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana provides free food and other resources through one of many feeding programs in our 12 parish service area.
Chances are, hunger has touched someone you know. Over 53,900 people – or 1 in 7 – in Northeast Louisiana are food insecure and are at risk of experiencing hunger. And approximately 19,800 of them – or 1 in 4 – are children.
It takes a community to address hunger. The act of feeding people requires a collective effort with a unified goal. Explore how our supporters are helping the Food Bank make an impact in Northeast Louisiana.
