Meet Barbara
Helping Families in Richland Parish
Barbara visits a Food Bank Community Partner in Richland Parish for food assistance each month. Living on a low income and raising her 12-year-old granddaughter, Barbara finds it difficult to make ends meet.
“I try to save dime by dime and it’s not long until it’s all gone,” she told us.
Each visit, Barbara’s able to receive groceries such as fresh produce, proteins, and shelf-stable food items.
“It’s very helpful,” she said.
Barbara uses food items she gets from the Food Bank to make one of her granddaughter’s favorite dishes, tuna fish casserole.
Barbara’s decision to get help from the Food Bank has made a difference in the life of her and her granddaughter. Barbara is able to provide to her granddaughter shelter, love, comfort, and most importantly…food.
“To help people who are in need of food is one of the best things you can do,” she said.
To help neighbors like Barbara, you can volunteer, host a food drive or make a monetary donation today.
